Day 2 of The Crossroads Blog Tour of 2012

Monday, October 22nd, 2012

It’s Day 2 of the Crossroads Blog Tour! Today, Judith Graves and I are at Late Bloomer Online! Come read our interviews, then follow the instructions for a chance to win a Kindle pre-loaded with 13 books!

Separately, I’ve been working on two things.

First, I’ve been cleaning up alllllllllllll the spam comments trapped in my PENDING section. (41,000+ spam comments! Yow!) Akismet has also been trapping my legit comments in the spam/pending filter too. UGH. I’ve been doing this manually, and I think I approved all of the legit stuff. BUT – if you’ve commented on the Authors Against Bullying giveaway post and/or the VELVETEEN giveaway post AND your comment hasn’t shown up, please repost! Both giveaways are open to comments until October 30.

Second, I’ve been working on a project for my Precious Little Tax Deductions. I originally wrote the piece in close third person…but now, for the revision, I’m switching it to first person POV. And guys…it’s working! I read the revised first chapter to my boys, and they loved it! Both boys said they preferred the story this way, in first person. My older son was riveted as I read to them, and my younger son (who’s a wee bit under the age range of the project at the moment) laughed at a good number of the funny lines. I’m thrilled! So I’m focusing on this project for them. Who knows? Maybe with no sleep over the next week, I’ll finish it before NANO. :)

RAGE Blog Tour: Literary Escapism and Indigo Teen Blog

Friday, April 1st, 2011

Today we’re kicking off the RAGE Blog Tour! Throughout April, I’ll be visiting blogs and babbling about lots of things (say, Twinkies). And there’s a big tour contest — three people will win copies of HUNGER and RAGE, plus some extra goodies!

Today’s official tour stop is at Literary Escapism. In the spirit of April Fool’s Day, I do a post about my faux memoir, ROAD RAGE. :)

Bonus: I was interviewed by Indigo Teen Blog — and Death makes an appearance!

Interviewed, reviewed, and character revenge

Friday, December 24th, 2010

Yesterday, HUNGER got a terrific review at YA Book Reads — and today, they posted an interview with me, in which I talk about writing, donating money to NEDA, the character of Death, and, er, strip clubs. :)

HUNGER also recently got a terrific review at the Starmetal Oak Book Blog.

And you should stop by Figment, where I am interviewed by Lisa (protagonist of HUNGER) and Missy (protagonist of RAGE).

HUNGER Crossroads Tour: Book Bound and Book Smugglers

Tuesday, October 19th, 2010

And here we are at Day 4 of the Crossroads Tour, at Book Bound! Come on over, find out if I’m still drawing comics, then go to the Crossroads main page for today’s question.

And now, the Very Special interview: a tw0-part Post Mortem interview. Part 1, at The Book Smugglers, has Death interviewing me. Part 2, here on Post Mortem, is between Death and Lisabeth.

HUNGER Crossroads Tour: Book Faery

Monday, October 18th, 2010

Today is Day 3 of the Crossroads Tour!

Today I’m visiting Book Faery! I talk to Tori about my sibilant S, my pseudo-secret identity, who should play Death if HUNGER were a movie, and other things. Stop by, and then be sure to check out the other author interviews on the Crossroads Tour so you can answer today’s question.

And look: more HUNGER reviews and interviews!

Eleni at La Femme Readers asks me what is the craziest thing that I’ve ever done, and other burning questions.

Heather at Bewitched Bookworms reviews HUNGER.

Amy at Amy Reads also reviews HUNGER.

And Dani at On Vision Purple also reviews HUNGER.

Edited: And even more reviews and interviews:

Adventures in Children’s Publishing: an interview and a poster giveaway!

Writing Is A Blessing: a review, and interview and a poster giveaway!

The New York Journal of Books reviewed HUNGER!

And Justine magazine has three short reviews of HUNGER!

HUNGER blog tour: The Story Siren

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Today’s HUNGER blog tour stop is at The Story Siren, for an interview! I talk about the importance of scales in the book, as well as who my favorite character was to write, and other things too. Thanks for the interview, Kristi!

More reviews of HUNGER have been coming in…as well as a number for RAGE! (For the record, it’s very surreal to see reviews of book #2 before book #1 has technically launched.) Here are a few:

Wayfaring Writer: another interview with me, as well as a review of HUNGER

Miles 2 Go: reviews both HUNGER and RAGE

Bibliophilic Monologues: re-posts a HUNGER review

Writing Is A Blessing: selects RAGE for this week’s Waiting On Wednesday

Reading Angel: reviews HUNGER

Whatchamacallit Reviews: reviews HUNGER

Okay, so maybe that’s a lot and not a few. My continued heartfelt thanks to all who have read and reviewed HUNGER (OMG, and RAGE)! HUNGER officially launches on Monday. I’m giddy!

Separately…I finished the LOSS synopsis, finally! My fabulous crit partner has weighed in, and now my agent is reviewing it, along with the first five chapters of the book. Fingers crossed she likes it!

HUNGER blog tour: Literary Landscapes

Tuesday, October 5th, 2010

Day two of the HUNGER blog tour is here! Today I’m visiting Literary Landscapes. Come check it out! (The review of HUNGER will go up next week. Eek!)

I also have a snippet of HUNGER posted at the Deadline Dames. (Did you know I’m a Deadline Dame? Now you do!) The excerpt is from chapter 5, when Lisa meets Death and realizes exactly who–or what–he is.

Over at the Chapters Indigo Teen Blog, you can read about the Smart Chicks’ favorite smart chicks–nine YA paranormal authors discuss which characters were their role models when they were growing up. The fabulous Rachel Caine has something extremely cool that she added.

Later today, there should be a (God willing, positive) review of HUNGER over at The Book Cellar. It’s not up yet. I’m sort of biting my nails as I refresh the page. Once the review is up, I’ll link to it. [Edited to add: Alas, the book wasn't to the reviewer's taste. Here's why. Oh well!]

And my local library told me today that they’ve ordered HUNGER. Yay! **throws confetti**

Interviewed!

Monday, November 16th, 2009

I was interviewed at The Book Resort! Come see!

Thanks, Diane!
